Praia do Canal Nature Retreat está inserido no Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina. Estendendo-se ao longo de mais de 100km de costa, o parque natural é o troço de litoral europeu melhor conservado, com várias espécies de fauna e flora únicas.

A paisagem é marcada por falésias calcárias íngremes que foram esculpidas em uma série de promontórios escarpados, que destaca praias deslumbrantes, muito procuradas pelos surfistas, e são as melhores do país. Praia do Canal & Aljezur

The resort takes its name from the nearby Praia do Canal (Canal Beach), lying immediately to the south of Arrifana, Canal Beach affords a fine view of Needle Rock. This is a mostly pebble beach situated at the mouth of a valley carved out by an ephemeral stream, the banks of which have a dense covering of riverine vegetation.

Aljezur, the closest town, is just 10 kilometers away. Inhabited since prehistoric times, at the end of the Paleolithic period, this village was founded in the 10th century by the Arabs, who are believed to have been the people who occupied this area for the longest time. During this long stay in the Algarve, and specifically in Aljezur, leaving cultural and historical marks that are still visible today.
